The Ontario Trillium Foundation provided LOVE's Toronto region with startup funding in 1997, helping to build the first expansion of the LOVE model (originally established in Montreal in 1993). A second, two-year donation for operational funds, was provided to the Toronto regional office in 2000. These dollars were instrumental in building LOVE's infrastructure, initiating a volunteer program and helping to deliver youth directed violence prevention programs to Toronto communities.
