What our LOVE Youth Leaders have to Say …
“LOVE to me means a place where no matter what's going on everyone is an equal. And no matter what you do, you never feel stupid. And it means a great opportunity to meet new people who are always nice. It also means a lot to me because I want to stop the violence in our lives and I don't want me or anybody else to go through losing someone to violence.”
Desi, 16
“Since actively being involved with LOVE, two of my sons have graduated Ivy League Schools in the United States and are currently involved in international relations and community development. One son is part of Canada's top ten track and field stars specializing in the 100m and 200m sprint. He is also a public motivational speaker throughout Ontario at various schools and businesses. One of my daughters was recently awarded the YMCA Peace Medallion and my 17yr old son is a youth representative for Toronto Community Housing. These accomplishments are largely a result of their involvement, the effective programming, and experiences with LOVE.”
Faye Stanley, LOVE Parent & Believer
“I don't think I can really put into words how much of an impact LOVE has had on my life. LOVE has changed me in so many ways. I have had some amazing opportunities that would not have been possible without LOVE and I have gone through enormous personal changes in the four years I've been involved with LOVE. I know that I would be a very different person if I had never heard of Leave Out Violence, and I am very grateful that I did.”
Youth Leader aged 18
"LOVE's like an alternate family. LOVE gives youth a voice like no other. In this 'high and mighty'-free expression society, LOVE gives youth a chance to say what they want and the ability to express it in so many ways."
Hamdi, 17
